If you want files from DATA1: included in the scheduled incremental backup,
then you need to remove the -DATA1: from the DOMAIN statement. Otherwise
the DATA1: volume will be completely ignored during the incremental backup
operation.

Next:

Re-run the "query inclexcl" command, except add the "-detail" option:

   query inclexcl -detail

Check the following:

- To the right of the INCLUDE pattern you should see the source of the
INCLUDE statement, such as "dsm.opt", "server", and so on. Verify it shows
dsm.opt.

- Make sure a client option set is not specifying an INCLUDE statement that
supersedes your dsm.opt INCLUDE statement. So be sure to review the entire
"query inclexcl" output.

Also:

- Make sure the node is in the same policy domain that has the E4LCLASS
management class.

- Make sure the E4LCLASS management class actually exists (and verify the
spelling) and that it has a backup copy group; though I would expect
dsmerror.log to show some kind of error or warning message if the
management class or backup copy group did not exist.

- Make sure that the policy set to which E4LCLASS belongs has been
activated.

Andy

The only dumb question is the one that goes unasked.
The command line is your friend.
"Good enough" is the enemy of excellence.
