 You are correct.  The
library manager must be at the some or highest level of all library
clients and storage agents.

It's my understanding that TSM is compatible back to n-2 releases, so
v6.1 should work with v5.5 and v5.4 servers. Our local IBM folks
confirmed this when we discussed a upgrade strategy (planning for next
years work!!!).
