The online TSM V6 documentation says re "Archive Log Space":

   [Assuming a daily DB backup ...] Therefore you can estimate
   a starting size for the archive log using the following calculation:

      objects stored per day x 3000 bytes per object x 2 days

It would seem that this is similar to the old "Log Consumption" statistic
which can be found via "q log f=d" on pre-V6 versions of the TSM server.

Did anyone (maybe at IBM?) collect a few of these statistics?

I'd think that <fudge factor> * <Log Consumption> / <days since "reset logc">
might be a good way to estimate V6 log space requirements per day, for those
planning a V5 -> V6 upgrade, once a plausible range for the <fudge factor>
(likely >1 ;-() has been determined.
