Actually, if this is a one-off, it may be worth it to mount the file
system that has the data you need and back it up as a windows/unix client.
then you can use typical backupset handling

Good point, I need to also ensure the TOC hangs out for a while.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. I should have stated this at first,
but the data is 2.5TB and about 2 million objects. They also want the
data on-line for now, but they want a copy just in case something gets
deleted.

We do long term "archives" for NAS systems all the time. The MC route is
the best way. Even if you go over IP, you still won't be able to export
the data. It just saves you from having to create a separate pool, in
this case. Unfortunately, there is no "GENERATE BACKUPSETTOC" for NAS
backups on TSM, so you'll have to keep that around also. (Because you
know they will want to browse the contents 7.01 years from now!)

Shawn

I need to send a couple NAS file systems off to tape forever. Legal said
we have to so we will. Because this is a Filer attached to a library I
see that backup sets and exports are not supported. This leaves me with
the choice of creating a MC for this backup. Is there a better way?
