do you send reminder e-mails to users whose systems didn't do a complete
backup (of the whole machine or at least one filespace) for a certain
period of time?

If so, do you use a self-written script or a free or commercial
program/script (which one)?

We use a collection of self-written ksh scripts on AIX that need to be
rewritten completely (e.g. they don't allow to warn users who back up
only some filespaces regularly).
