Re: [ADSM-L] CBRM - Centera and my TSM server.

IS anyone using a script or some other method to create the daily .res
file for a CBRM backup ?
Or a possible other way to get just the changes in the last 24 hrs ?

This looks to be working now...
Undocumented points of interest:
The Storage pool that the Centera data is going to has to be large
enough to hold all the raw data, plus the clips and the TOC.
In my case 2-1 for the 100 gb of data I need. 200+ gb of STG.
Another very odd part. Issuing Q STG shows the pool to not be utilized
tsm: QTWATSM1>q stg *cbrm*
Storage Device Estimated Pct Pct High Low Next
Stora-
Pool Name Class Name Capacity Util Migr Mig Mig ge Pool
Pct Pct
CBRM_STG_POOL DISK 307 G 0.0 0.0 90 70
And Q volume shows the volumes are being used.
tsm: QTWATSM1>q vol *cbrm*
Volume Name Storage Device Estimated Pct
Volume
Pool Name Class Name Capacity Util
Status
------------------------ ----------- ---------- --------- -----
--------
/tsmdiskpool1/cbrm1.dsm CBRM_STG_P- DISK 51.2 G 81.5
On-Line
OOL
/tsmdiskpool2/cbrm2.dsm CBRM_STG_P- DISK 51.2 G 100.0
On-Line
OOL
/tsmdiskpool6/cbrm3.dsm CBRM_STG_P- DISK 51.2 G 0.0
On-Line
OOL
But a q content of the volume produces no results.
tsm: QTWATSM1>q content /tsmdiskpool2/cbrm2.dsm
ANR2034E QUERY CONTENT: No match found using this criteria.
ANS8001I Return code 11.

OK...
I have a step by step definition of what was defined.
On the CBRM ( windows)
Environmental variables are set:
CBRM_DUMP_BACKUP=Yes
CBRM_DUMP_FSTYPE=ntfs
CBRM_DUMP_PROFILE=sample
NDMP_LOCAL_ON=No
After more careful reading I'm using the "filer-to-server" method of NAS
backup:
And have performed the following steps.
On the TSM side:
define stgpool CBRM_STG_POOL disk
defined stg volumes. approximately 100gb of space.
define domain CBRM_DOMAIN description="Policy domain for sxes3_CBRM
host."
define policyset CBRM_DOMAIN CBRM_POLICYSET
define mgmtclass CBRM_DOMAIN CBRM_POLICYSET CBRM_MGTCLASS
assign defmgmtclass CBRM_DOMAIN CBRM_POLICYSET CBRM_MGTCLASS
define copygroup CBRM_DOMAIN CBRM_POLICYSET CBRM_MGTCLASS
destination=CBRM_STG_POOL tocdestination=CBRM_STG_POOL verexists=4
activate policyset CBRM_DOMAIN CBRM_POLICYSET
register node sxes3_cbrm <password> domain=CBRM_DOMAIN type=nas
define datamover sxes3_CBRM type=nas hladdress=<cbrm_host>
lladdress=10000 userid=<Administrator> password=<PASSWORD>
dataformat=ndmpdump
Any Ideas ?

Can someone give me a clue ?
I've been tasked to back up our Centera... I have no working knowledge
of CBRM and have not been through any previous exercises to define NDMP
operations on TSM.
What I have:
TSM server EE 5.4.3 on AIX. CBRM version 2.2. T950 library with 10 LTO4
drives.
I have the host defined, I have a STG defined for TOC and I have a
separate domain defined for just this process.
I inititated the nas backup and it appeared the data was being sent to
the TSM server around 175 gb of data.
The STG had no data, No tapes were mounted but my recovery log grew
throughout the process.
I'm working with a vendor that has some experiencing setting this up and
appears to be lost down the wrong track.
I was able to locate some documentation on this and it appears that I
have to define a separate library for this processing.
Can anyone give me some background on how this is supposed to work ? And
possibly what I am missing.
Thanks,
Duane
