Richard, I have always been not 100% crystal clear on this.... 

If one does a 'delete filespace', does the data on the tapes remain
there until the next expiration or reclamation process runs?

Conversely, a delete volume would do it pretty well instantly, right?

Delete Filespace is certainly a superset of Delete Volume, if you are
certain that you want the data to go away.
