First of all, is the tape definitely in the library?

Next, is this an onsite or offsite tape?

Do a

q vol <volume-name> f=d

What is in the 'location' field? If the tape if supposed to be offsite and
the location is blank and you run a 'move data', it will think it is in the
library, not find it and revery back to 'unavailable'. I had two of these
last week

Subject: [ADSM-L] Unavailable Tapes - cannot do Move Data

Hello..

I have a number of tapes showing as access=unavailable in the system. I
have tried to change the state to readwrite to see if it would work
(maybe some kind of read / load issue) but that didn't work. I have
then tried to change the state to readonly, and do a 'move data' command
to move the data on the tape onto a storage pool - but the activity log
shows when it tries to load the tape, it fails and the tape goes right
back to unavailable again.

A q filespace and q occupancy shows there is data for my nodes on these
tapes which I really don't want to loose.

What else can I do about this?
