Re: [ADSM-L] Running a D/R test, and restored a major fileserver -- but only got back the default access control permissions

Well, unfortunately they're there and I'm here --
The backups are running the defaults and the restores are supposed to be
running the defaults.
But we had a novice do the restore per the documentation so I may have to wait
until Thursday to find out what actually got used.
I just wanted a sanity check from people here about the defaults.
We install the OS from CD/DVD, install the TSM client, and then restore the
drives at the drive-level (not the C: drive, of course, but all the others).
This is the first time we've run into this, so I'm leaning toward a restore
option screwup.
Thanks -
Tom

A default backup gets the permissions and a default restore restores the
permissions. Assuming the node has access to the accounts with
permission to the files it should work.
What commands did you use to backup and restore?
Did you restore the OS?
Was the node a member of the domain when you checked the permissions?
Are the groups/accounts local or global?

As it says --
Is the problem in our backup process, or the restore?
