And if you keep a backup of DB2 for 10 years, how will you be able to
read it 10 years from now?  If you have the same version of DB2, the
same OS and the same hardware, maybe.  If not, no.

Perhaps an export to CSV or some other reasonably portable format
instead...

Just a thought.

Use multiple nodenames, e.g:

DB2client
DB2client-monthly
DB2client-yearly

Then they can use different management classes with different retention
values.
