Well, I have mine set up to use each, so I'm definitely going to change that,
along with moving the backup to another time.

I updated the diskcachelocation to a different drive and it worked.

Could this be an issue?: The particular folks that I'm supporting in
this case are transitioning from TSM to Symantec Backup Exec. Our
backups were butting heads apparently, according to their logs.

I could imagine that problem occurring if the permissions on the
DISKCACHELOCATION area are too restrictive for the invoker.  Try
changing to a more neutral location than the client install directory
and see if the error goes away. See the Tivoli Storage Manager Version
5.4 & 5.5 Technical Guide redbook for good info on the subject.
