Dude, it's just a money thing. It's not cheap to create and support a
backup agent for a database product. While there are a lot of MySQL
implementations out there, I'd be willing to bet that there aren't a lot
that are over a GB or two, so it's perfectly reasonable to just back it
up to a compressed disk file and back up that file. Translation: most
people wouldn't pay for the agent if it was there. (Heck, most people
don't pay for the Oracle, SQL Server, Sybase, & DB2 agents, either!)
