Yes and it is not really a TSM solution, but a SAN solution to get the DB and 
file systems in sync.
Basically we stop the application, clone the disks, and then restart the app.  
Later we mount the disks to another system and take our backup.  In our case 
there are about 27 disks and give or take 10 million files.  The app is down 
around 15 minutes and the backup runs about 10-12 hours.
