Good day

Thanks for the responds, for the medium changer and the drive we are
using the following,

Certance Medium Changer (Manufacturer) with IBM Device driver dated
10/25/2006 version 5.3.4.1

Quantum LTO 2 Tape drive (Manufacturer) with IBM device driver dated
8/31/2006 version 5.3.4.0

When we use rsm, we can only get the to label or check in tapes however
we cannot migrate the data off disk or even run a database backup to
tape. The error we get is insufficient number of mount points. However
when we use the IBM device drivers, we get I/O error reading label, with
the error below

ANR8302E I/O error on drive DRIVE0 (mt6.0.0.5) with volume (OP=SETMODE,
Error
Number=87, CC=207, KEY=05, ASC=26, ASCQ=00,
SENSE=70.00.05.00.00.00.00.1E.00.00.00.00.26.00.00.8D.00.0C.00.00.00.00.
,
Description=Device is not in a state capable of performing request).
Refer to
Appendix D in the 'Messages' manual for recommended action.
ANR8357I Error reading label of volume from slot-element 2 in drive
DRIVE0
(mt6.0.0.5) of library ADICFS2.

Somehow I agree that we are sitting with the driver problem, could you
please advice us on the correct drivers to use for this configuration.

Thanks in advance

I think you mean ADIC FastStor 2.
Your posting doesn't say anything about the all-important driver you
are using with the library and drives. Make sure you are adhering to
the information provided on the Web page "Supported devices for AIX,
HP, SUN and Windows",
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/sysmgmt/products/support/IBM_TSM_Support
ed_Devices_for_AIXHPSUNWIN.html
as linked from the TSM Support Page
http://www-306.ibm.com/software/sysmgmt/products/support/IBMTivoliStorag
eManager.html

Assure that you are employing a 32- or 64-bit driver which matches
your operating system, according to the IBM information. And always
test that the library and drive are functional at the operating system
level before trying to use with TSM: if it doesn't work at the OS
level, it sure isn't going to work in TSM.

When using the TSM device driver, you can test with the 'lbtest'
command (see Technote 1049959); and there is the 'ntutil' command.
