Not sure but from memory the dsmtca should be setuid root. Could it be
that the pernmissions are incorrect ?

  I am running Linux on zSeries, SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10
(s390x). I have "DB2 v9.1.0.3 installed.  I have installed IBM Tivoli
Storage Manager Client Version 5, Release 3, Level 5.3, Server Version
3, Release 1, Level 2.110.  I have the api installed also and when I run
from the DB2 instance id, I get the following:

{inst1@stgprod:/home/inst1}
$ db2 backup db stgiw use tsm
SQL2033N  An error occurred while accessing TSM during the processing of
a database utility.  Reason code: "138".

/var/log/tsm/dsmerror.log has the following:

10/16/2007 14:43:25 Unable to locate valid trusted communication agent.
10/16/2007 14:43:25 tcaPath is
>/opt/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin64/dsmtca<.
rc is 138

/opt/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin64/dsmtca looks like this:

-rwxrwxrwt 1 root bin 2006787 Aug 14 16:23
/opt/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin64/dsmtca

Anyone know what I might be doing wrong here?
