1. Are you able to perform a backup using the the internal backup
   tool within the SQL Server Management Studio?

2. Do you have other SQL Servers in your environment?
   Are they having the same problem?

3. Are you running in a cluster? If so, are you specifying the
   "/SQLSERVER=srv-name" parameter when you launch the GUI
   or the CLI command?

4. Does the SQL Server log give any information on the problem?


If you cannot get this working, please open a PMR with IBM
so IBM support can gather a trace to get some diagnostics data
to help troubleshoot this problem.
