I don't mean traditional LAN-free, but LAN-free backup directly to disk using
SANergy (which is an IBM product...)

SANergy is a product, client/server, which allow spare of SAN disk space.

It can be used with TSM :
A dedicated storage pool disk is shared among SAN with nodes.
Management class direct datas to disk space.
Datas flux go through SAN and, as usual, meta data through LAN.

My wish is to reduce number of Storage Agent, and for elgible nodes, to
continue LAN-free but with a data flux directed to disk spaces.
In my idea, are elegible, node with kind of data "special" SAN ;-) aka
databases and so but with too small sizes to be really efficient on tape
LAN-free. Can be eligible too, boxes without enough CPU power to "push"
efficiently datas through tape SAN and which used tape in long long time
backups.

I don't know is I am clear in my explanation, but I am just exploring this
possibility so what I need is not technical advices but experience feedback
about SANergy with TSM.
