Well see now you guys got me thinking...

Here's my issue. I have two large F&P servers that pretty much contain all
of our department files. We have multiple department drives I would like to
somehow segregate. The reason is that our file restores have gotten
REALLLLLLLY slow, meaning the GUI navigation. If I need to do a file restore
and search using the GUI, clicking on another folder and waiting for the
results for Active & Inactive files takes sometimes up to 20mins to respond.
It's getting ridiculous.

Have you come across this issue? I can only presume it's because we have way
too many files getting backed up on a single node name. Advice?

I was thinking of trying to get each Dept drive backed up separately, which
would require new node names etc. That's fine but my issue is getting this
setup without have to re-backup the directories (recreating the filespaces),
or losing retention on the directories. I was trying to find out how to move
filespace nodedata. Like moving the D:\ filespace from NodeA to NodeB. I
don't see instructions anywhere for this. I only see instructions for moving
from one storagepool to another.

Thanks in advance!!

It is possible to load it multiple times with the same name. However, I
prefer to rename it for unload purposes. If you load with the same name,
when you type 'unload dsmc', all instances will unload. If you've renamed
them, you can 'unload dsmcvol1' or 'unload dsmcvol2' to unload the
specific instance only.
