Richard,

Thanks...Yes the filespace does exist and I was using the Backup/Restore
GUI
to the restore. I contacted the client and as it turned out the tivadx
was not mounted
and now that it is there is a directory structure there with files. I
assume thats
why I recieved that message? And as it turns out a restore may not be
needed
after all.

AIX client 5.3.4
TSM 5.3

Tim

Hello,

I am trying to do a restore and I am getting the following message

ANS1395E
The destination filespace of drive letter is unavailable. The

object was not
processed: Filespace:' /tivadx'

So... does that filespace exist in TSM storage?
If not, did the TSM server administrator perhaps rename it (possibly
to get someone to own up to a filespace perceived to be obsolete)?
Or was the syntax of the restore confusing to TSM relative to a
filespace name which consists of multiple directory levels such that
braces are needed to help TSM understand the filespace portion of the
path being specified?
Dig into the details of that scenario.
