Hello,

We want to transfer large Filespaces (> 10 TB) from server to server.
Source and target are both AIX TSM servers, source TSM 5220, target TSM
5320.

These long jobs (more than 30 days) are typical candidates to get
interrupted (Media error, network, disks, other,...) and we had already
these interruptions.
The interrupted jobs will restart at zero and all of them will take the
same time, regardless of the data already transferred.

Using the fromdate/fromtime option was one try. Start rather in recent
times and going step for step further in the past.
Cancel the follow-up jobs if the difference of files between the dates
is transferred. This is not working as files are not transferred in
timely order, the older files will not come first, they come in some
order which depends probably from the tapes they are on.

Is there another way of breaking these filespaces down to smaller pieces
and getting
so more chance of finishing the jobs ?

Thanks for answering,

Matthias
