* Do any other clients have this problem? If so, what are the
commonalities? Do any other clients NOT have this problem? If so, what are
the differences? What I mean by this is, can you find any pattern or
something unique that might help localize the problem (for example,
options file settings)?

* Check the TSM server activity log to see what's going on there at the
time the client tries to start the backup.

* In a vein similar to earlier posts I've made, I'd suggest going to the
TSM support site (see my sig) and use the "Search Support (this product)"
facility to see if you get any hits for your symptoms.
