If using Solaris10, take a look at the following on the IBM website
IC49092: TSM SERVER WILL CRASH ON START UNDER SOLARIS 10 WITH LATEST SUN
PATCH INSTALLED.

and click on Server requirements
and there select Solaris, and be pleased.
