ftp://ftp.software.ibm.com/ is an anonymous ftp site. I just tested it
using command line ftp from windows. You should be able to login using
the user "anonymous" and just about anything as the password (I just
pressed enter for the password).
If this does not work, then you probably have an FTP proxy at your
company that is prompting you for a password.
Try testing another anonymous ftp site such as ftp://ftp.gnu.org/ (BTW
the gnu site does not prompt me for a password when I use the command
line ftp client.)
