Check the port on the switch. Some switches need the port the adapter is
connected be set to Auto-Negotiate if they do not have the ability to be set to
1000/Full.

I have a windows server that backs up to an AIX tsm server.
The windows box has a 1gb adapter, yet we don't run a gig connection to
the tsm server.
The 'link speed and duplex' is set to 1000full.....and I'm seeing long
wait times on backup.
