I thought the whole idea behind a NQR is to *NOT* scan through the 
files.......just restore everything in this directory/filespace ?

I don't think the number of "restored files" is the problem but
the "total number of backed up files".
TSM has to scan through all backed up files to find the candidates for
the restore.

Thank you for this helpful feature and information. I will pass it on.

However, I do not feel the "large number of files" is the issue since
there was only 164K files restored when we did it by hand/non-NQR.
