Problem abstract: Ridiculously wide portlet windows cause excessive
horizontal scrolling in Firefox.
Problem description: Firefox does not dynamically adjust the width of
columns to match window sizes. IE does not exhibit this behavior, as it is
able to dynamically adjust the width of a table. Firefox's default
behavior is to make a table as long as the longest row in a given table.
This results in having to scroll horizontally on many portlets in TSM's
Administration Center.
Problem workaround: Use IE where possible, until this is fixed. For those
users who do NOT wish to use IE, we recommend you install a Firefox
plug-in called IE Tab. The IE Tab plug-in allows you to display links in
an embedded tabbed window within Firefox. IE Tab mimics how IE would
display the tables, and thus resolves the scrolling problem with TSM
Administration Center portlets.
You may download IE Tab from here:
https://addons.mozilla.org/extensions/moreinfo.php?id=1419&application=firefox
Note: This workaround was tested and verified to work with Firefox version
1.07 and IE Tab version 1.0.6.4.
