We are testing out a virtual tape library (Pathlight). We are backing up an
oracle database from a Linux client using TDP for Oracle and RMAN. When we
use compression at the client end, whether we go Lan or LanFree, we see the
same performance. However, uncompressed is much faster on LanFree than Lan.

Does anyone know if there are tunables or any issues with using compression
and LanFree backups? We are using TSM version 5.2.x.x on both server and
client. Both are Linux.

Thanks
