How to erase magstar-Tapes ?
2005-06-15 06:18:14
Hello All ,
we have a 3494 Library with currently both 3590 drives and 3592 drives.
Anything is moved now to 3592-tapes and we end using the 3590 - Drives.
The tsm is no problem -
Because we want to give the now unused J-Label(20GB) and K-Label(40GB)
to another company , I need to erase/zero the data on the old tapes - about
1000 .
Now my question: is there an efficient way to make the data on those
old tapes unreadable, but not only by labelling ?
Has someone done this ?
I have never done something outside adsm/tsm with the tapes and I think
it is better done from aix ?
Thanks a lot for any hints
Rainer
