Running TSM 5.2.3.0 server on AIX 5.2.

  Some of my Windows 2003 TSM 5.2.3.0 clients occasionally report this
error:


      03/08/2005 02:02:59 CreateSnapshotSet(): pAsync->QueryStatus()
returns hr=VSS_E_PROVIDER_VETO

      03/08/2005 02:03:00 ANS1950E Backup via Microsoft Volume Shadow Copy
failed.  See error log for more detail.


   I opened an issue with IBM, and they recommended setting
RESOURCEUTILIZATION between 2 and 4, and applying MS hotfixes 833167 and
887827.

   I changed RESOURCEUTILIZATION, yet have still experienced 1 failure.

   We have Microsoft consultants in-house, and they claim to have access to
internal MS documents that indicate this is an IBM problem. IBM has been
non-commital, but my MS consultants do not want to try the hotfixes.

    Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

    What is your understanding of the cause?

    What is your course of action?
