I was speaking in terms of what you can do with TSM facilities alone..... 
but your suggestion might work for some. However, I myself usually just 
close my laptop lid and let it go to "sleep". When I re-open the lid and 
plug into the network, I don't have to log on, I just unlock the keyboard. 
So the logon script wouldn't work for me, at least not without some 
additional massaging to retry the dsmc command periodically.
