Query the volumes in the primary tape pool that are being called for.
Does the query show them marked as destroyed?

NETWARE_COPY - Copy
NETWARE_TAPE - Primary
The step that I think is missing is the change status for the
NETWARE_TAPE
- Primary tapes.
You would need to make these tapes in the tape primary pool are marked
destroyed so that these tapes are not asked for by TSM doing restore.
update volume * acc=destroyed wherestg=NETWARE_TAPE
As for NETWARE_COPY tapes you only need to make them access=readonly and
I
think once they're mounted they will automatically change to offsite
status (I believe ).

In the past I was able to restore my TSM database and servers, I am
testing
this again and it fails
1. I have access only to the copy storage pool tapes
2. I successfully loaded the database and started the adsm server
The storage pool I am trying to restore from is called NETWARE_COPY, its
primary storage pool is NETWARE_TAPE
After I started the server i updated the NETWARE_COPY volumes as "Read
Only", which worked
UPDATE VOL * WHERESTGPOOL=NETWARE_COPY ACCESS=READO
I then tried to update the NETWARE_COPY volumes as "Offsite" which
failed
UPDATE VOL * WHERESTGPOOL=NETWARE_COPY ACCESS=OFFSITE
ANR2117E UPDATE VOLUME: Access mode for volume A00666 cannot be changed
to
"offsite" - volume either does not belong to a copy storage pool or
from a
device class of DEVTYPE=SERVER.
I then updated them to Unavailable which worked
UPDATE VOL * WHERESTGPOOL=NETWARE_TAPE ACCESS=UNAVAILABLE
But when client restore started it got
ANR0565W Retrieve or restore failed for session 546 for node INFOSYS
(NetWare) - storage volume A01290 inaccessible
A01920 is in the NETWARE_TAPE pool
I have since seen references to DEVTYPE=SERVER for Database backups and
Storage Pool copies ????
