Hi

I made today a backup of a new client Unix with Tsm client version 5.2.0 on Tsm
server version 5.2.3 to disk, here the output:

1/04/2004 10:52:15 ANE4952I (Session: 8889, Node: CONSTRUCT) Total number of
                     objects inspected: 169,203 (SESSION: 8889)
1/04/2004 10:52:15 ANE4954I (Session: 8889, Node: CONSTRUCT) Total number of
objects backed up: 169,194 (SESSION: 8889)
1/04/2004 10:52:15 ANE4961I (Session: 8889, Node: CONSTRUCT) Total number of
bytes transferred: 14.14 GB (SESSION: 8889)

The bytes transferred was 14.14GB. I run a migration to tape, here the output

11/04/2004 11:19:57 ANR0986I Process 421 for MIGRATION running in the
BACKGROUND processed 153096 items for a total of
8,910,381,056 bytes with a completion state of SUCCESS at
                      11:19:57. (PROCESS: 421)

As you see the migration moved 8,910,381,056 bytes , when I run a sql query to
see the node occuapancy as:

select node_name,sum(physical_mb) as "Occupancy" from occupancy group by
node_name order by 2

I got the same result as the migration: CONSTRUCT 8493.12

It's the hardware compress to make this difference between the backup result to
the data store on the tape ???????????
