Sandra,

DP for Oracle uses the TSM API to connect to the TSM Server, because of
this, the API is going to look in /opt/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin for the
dsm.sys file - I am making the assumption that this is the reason for the
error. You have two choices at this point, either create a dsm.sys file in
the API directory or create a link from the API directory over to your
dsm.sys in the .../ba/bin directory. Just one other point, it is not
recommended that you share your BA Client dsm.sys stanza's with all
nodes....especially in this case where you have "passwordaccess generate."
DP Oracle expects the "passwordacces prompt."

Subject
TDP for Oracle on Linux - ANS0263E (RC2230

Dear List,
Here is another problem with me:

TDP for Oracle on Linux.

"tdpoconf password" or "tdpoconf showenvironment" commands giving error as
under:
ANS0263E (RC2230) Either the dsm.sys file was not found, or the Inclexcl
file
specified in dsm.sys was not found.

I installed:
 BA Client
 TDP oracle
 TDP Utilities
since TSM API gave message that 5.2.2 version is already installed, and I
received 5.1.5 with TDP oracle.

tdpo.opt fie:
DSMI_ORC_CONFIG /opt/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin/dsm.opt
DSMI_LOG /opt/tivoli/tsm/client/oracle/bin
TDPO_FS /adsmorc
TDPO_NODE onlinedb-orc
TDPO_OWNER root
TDPO_PSWDPATH /opt/tivoli/tsm/client/oracle/bin
TDPO_DATE_FMT 1
TDPO_NUM_FMT 1
TDPO_TIME_FMT 1

dsm.opt file:
SERVERNAME 172.16.17.117
DOMAIN ALL-LOCAL

dsm.sys file:
SERVERNAME 172.16.17.117
GROUPS root
USERS root
PASSWORDDIR /opt/tivoli/tsm/client/ba/bin
PASSWORDACCESS GENERATE
NODENAME onlinedb
TCPSERVERADDRESS 172.16.17.117

I tried to copy the dsm.sys and dsm.opt files in
/opt/tivoli/tsm/client/oracle/bin directory but to no avial. Removed
GROUPS and
USERS from dsm.sys file but to no avail. Did this and that, but to no
avail.

Tivoli BA Client is installed and it is backing up files perfectly.

I am missing that one thing which is right.
I tried the same on Windows 2000 machine and the two commands worked fine.

Please help me out of this unwelcome situation.

Regards,
Sandra
