IIRC, TDP for Notes 1.1 was built to try to cope with older versions of
the Notes backup API, which was poorly written. One of the symptoms that
this TDP would display while backing up versions 3 and 4 of Notes was to
hang while running backups.

I suspect your only real alternative is to upgrade to a later version of
TSM for Mail (Domino). If management says there is no money for such an
upgrade, ask them to compare the cost of a Domino license vs. the worth
of the data it would back up. If they still refuse, I would insist on
something in writing on letterhead stating that you're not responsible
for proper restores. To do the right job, you need the right tools.
