Yes I did see that, but it is very vague as to what needs to be
performed on each node of the cluster. In previous versions it gave a
step by step process and there were also the redbooks to use as
reference. This offers virtually no assistance at all.

Hmmmm... what version of the book are you looking it?
In the 5.2.1 version of the Data Protection for Exchange User's Guide
that I am looking at, the MSCS considerations are still in there. There
is a section titled:
"Running Data Protection for Exchange on a Microsoft Cluster Server
(MSCS)"
