Another strategy that can help in some situations is to divide up large
filespaces with virtualmountpoints.

This can permit you to hit a given physical filespace in parallel (with
resourceutilization settings properly tuned) and it can also decrease the
chunk of TSM database you need to have downloaded at any one time, which might
also be a speed win.


Where the division was especially clean, I've had as many as 10
virtualmountpoints on a single physical filesystem;  it worked very well
indeed.
