Correct. In version 5.2, we use a new mechanism (Microsoft's Volume
Snapshot Services) for backing up Windows 2003 system state. This involved
changes on both the server and client, and thus can not be supported with
server versions below 5.1.

Yes, TSM 5.1.6 client (though I recommend 5.1.7) will support Windows 2003
system state backup via the same "backup systemobject" mechanism used for
Windows 2000. Be sure to review the "Windows 2003 support" section in the
5.1.7 client README file.
