strange that is, are you sure that you upgraded the webadmin as well?
what does  "rpm -qa | grep TIV" give you?

Now, if someone can tell me why the "ACTIVITY LOG" query from the
webadmin, has not been fixed (still forces an erroneous DOMAINNAME parm
with a value that I can not get rid of, thereby making it
fail)..........

Did you run

dsmserv runfile dsmserv.idl

to update the web admin images before starting the server in the
background?
