I have implemented the use of two different nodenames on the same server
only because I wanted to have the same node backing up files or databases
using a different policy set (and thus different management class). If the
data you'll be backing up can follow the same rules then there's no point
defining two nodenames and two schedulers.

Install the client on that machine, just change the service name. We do this
same thing for our Exchange servers.

For instance:

One machine: TESTNODE

But you're going to want TSM to see it as TWO nodes, TESTNODE1 and TESTNODE2
(or whatever)

Two services: (name 'em whatever you want)

Service1: TSM_SCHED
Service2: TSM_SCHED2

Your original install, the TSM_SCHED would point to your regular old dsm.opt
file. So you have to get the second to point to another dsm.opt file, maybe
named dsm2.opt

So the command you want to run for the baclient directory goes like this:

dsmcutil install shced /name:"TSM_SCHED2" /node:TESTNODE2 /password:[your
password] /clientdir:"progra~1\Tivoli\TSM\baclient
/optfile:c:\progra~1\Tivoli\TSM\baclient\dsm2.opt /autostart:yes
/startnow:yes

That'll install another service named TSM_SCHED2 that knows it's got a
nodename of TESTNODE2. Register that node with the server and then do what
you want with it (different mgt class, schedule, etc).
