How can I determine the originating slot?  I thought about doing just that but 
each time I try to check it in, the slot it attempts to go to varies....

Kelli - I don't have such a library (I'm 3494) but I suspect you're having 
trouble
        checking the volume in simply because it wasn't checked out...it was 
rudely removed from the library.  If you can determine its home slot, perhaps 
you can simply open the library and replace it?  Avoid drastic commands, which 
may jeopardize the data.
