Check for the Compression Enabled or not.

if not make it enable and try to backup on the tapes.

Or make the Tape Readonly manually, and private
by
Update libvolume LBa.b.c.d [volume name]
stauts=private
update libvolume LBa.b.c.d [volume name]
access=readonly wherestgpool=[STG pool]
wheredeviceclass=[Your Device class]
