Hello,

I'm having problems with a filesystem containing long directory paths. It 
looks like the client returns an
error and ends the backup when coming across these deep directory 
structures about 800 characters
long.
The real problem is'nt really the fact that TSM skips over these files 
(which would be fine by me), the
problem is that the backup finishes prematurely before it should (right 
after these long paths) with return
code 12.

Client: v5.2 on SuSE Linux ES 8
Server: v5.2  on windows 2000.

These file systems are not native to Linux so we are using 
virtualmountpoint and I guess this could be a
mitigating factor.

According to the header files for the tsm API the DSM_MAX_HL_LENGTH is 
1024 and
DSM_MAX_LL_LENGTH is 256, but these directory paths are below that. 
Anyway, I can't see any reason
for aborting the entire scheduled job even if they would exceed the max 
directory path.

Return code 12 seems to be:
The operation completed with at least one error message (except for error 
messages for skipped files).

I will also contact Tivoli support regarding this issue.
