I know that I need to be root or Authorized user in order to run the
scheduler, my question is How, where I autorize to one userid different
than root to run the scheduler?

You need to be root or Authorized user in order to run the scheduler. See
chapter 3 in the client manual, which discusses this.

Hi Steve,
we have UNIX clients. When We tried interactively start the scheduler and
keep it running in the backgroundto we obtained:.

ANS1817E Schedule function can only be run by a TSM authorized user.

what you recommend us?

Hi Janeth !
You can use a different user for the TSM client scheduler as long as
your user has the following rights:
.
- Back up files and directories
- Restore files and directories
- Manage auditing and security logs
.
You can use 3 different tools :
.
1) You can use the setup wizard in the B/A client Gui.
You will be asked to choose between the System account or
another account (you can use your account here)
.
2) Using dsmcutil. When creating the scheduler with the dsmcutil
command, you can use the /ntaccount:ntaccount and the
/ntpassword:ntpassword parameters :
.
dsmcutil install/name:"TSM Scheduler Service"
       /node:ALPHA1 /password:nodepw /autostart:yes
/ntaccount:ntaccount /ntpassword:ntpassword
.
You can find all the information in the dsmcutil.hlp file in the
baclient directory.

3) If the service already exist, you can simply go in Services.
Properties - Log on tab -> you can choose the user you want.
