Hi David!
Actually 3481 is your library firmware level, the most current drive levels
are 36U3 for LTO1 and 38D0 for LTO2 drives.

That sounds like pretty back level firmware.  My drives are at firmware
version 3481 and I'm not even sure that is the latest level.
