The original file does not exist (drive failure). The new volume to be used
is per the pathname below.

>- Can you show the output from the DELETE DBVOLUME command?

ANR2431E DELETE DBVOLUME: Volume F:\ADSM_SERVER\DB\DB5.DSM is not a defined
database volume.

Volume Name (Copy 1): F:\ADSM_SERVER\DB\DB5.DSM
         Copy Status: Off-Line
Volume Name (Copy 2): E:\ADSM_SERVER\DB\DB5COPY.DSM
         Copy Status: Sync'd
Volume Name (Copy 3):
         Copy Status: Undefined
Available Space (MB): 30,000
Allocated Space (MB): 30,000
     Free Space (MB): 0

Tried this before but without mirroring, although I did extend the database.
Will try again without extending and try. It would not let me before
reporting that the mirror was not sync'd so would not delete the
DB5COPY.DSM.

how to disable T SM db mirroring?]

With respect, that is not really my issue - although the v3.1 manual does
say to do so for DB and Log volumes in addition to the other types you
rightly specify.

I am having trouble bringing the sync'd mirror status back up as the 'F'
volume is not coming back online. Seems whatever I try, ADSM reports that
it is not a 'defined database volume'. The volume physically exists again
(after DR) in that specified location and the set up was working for over
a
year previously. At some point it must have been defined to be able to
create the mirror in the first place.

Rebooting the server with the volume in place does not prompt the app to
bring it back online by itself.

Regards

Stu

You don't vary on a db volume; you varyon file volumes for a disk-based
storage pool. To enable new db volumes, you extend the db.
