Re: w2k client error saving event logs

As told by our friend ,try the local backups on that m/c by gui.
If it is going on,Then the problem is with the scheduler services u have
installed on NT m/c.some hints are:
1.Ensure that tsm schedular service is starting properly and it is not dropped
in between. This u can check in admin task=>services utility in win nt.
2.For local schedule errors check the dsmsched.log file located in
c:\progtivoli\tivoli\tsm\baclient\ .See the type of error u are facing.
3.Logging is specified only at the time of local schedular configuration.By
local backup/archive client.Recongiure a new service by removing the old one,
and do't forget to start it if u have made some changes in client schedule.

Try backing up the event logs from the gui or cmd line. Does this work?
If so it is probably a permissions problem - TSM saves the files to
c:\adsm.sys ... - ensure the system account (or whatever the scheduler
service uses) has write access here.

Subject: w2k client error saving event logs
Client is W2K with TSM 5.1.6.0 client software
I have one client that shows that it fails every night.
It is a domain controller for a M$ active domain. Every night the backups
'fail' and
the logs (in the NT Event logs) says there was an error saving the event
logs.
I am not a real NT kind of guy, so even rudimentary assistance is
appreciated.
