How big was your RAID array - 300 GB??
Remember 300,000,000,000 bytes are not equal to 300 GB but to 279 GB. And
having in mind TSM needs some free space to be left on the filesystem
(approx. 1%), the volume can be about 275-6 GB.
There is no limit in TSM other than filesystem limitations. Haven't played
with newer 64-bit versions of TSM. OTOH even 32-bit architecture ought to
limit somewhere at 2^32 pages * 4 kB each ~= 2^45 bytes = 32 TB. You will
have many other issues to solve if you need to have 32 TB diskpool.

Hi *SMers,

Windows 2000
TSM 5.2

Is there a hard limit on the size of a volume that could be created on
random access disk?
I tried creating a 300GB volume on a random access disk (RAID 5) under
storage pool DISKPOOL and failed. But I have no problem creating a volume
with 100GB to the same disk array.

Would it make a difference in other O/S env?
