Well, the first question to ask, is what type of NAS is it?
IBM's NAS just uses a standard TSM client & TCP/IP; some other brands use
NDMP.

Subject: NAS/NDMP backups
New adventure time.
I just had a co-worker come to me to let me know the NAS HEAD was
installed and configured and ready to be backed-up.
Now what ?
I have absolutely no experience with this type of box.
I had been digging in the manuals and found lots of info refering to using
the NDMP process/interface of TSM to perform essentially, IMAGE type
dumps/backups.
The books also say this only allows for IMAGE type restores, not FILE
level.
I also see that TSM 5.2 now supports file-level restores from NDMP backups
(all references on the IBM/TIVOLI site still say this is "coming in next
release.....someone needs to update this).
I need some guidance on setting up NAS backups.
Also, has anyone tried file-level restores via 5.2 ? We can't install 5.2
yet since all of our AIX systems are still 4.3. We are going to upgrade
one of the test servers, soon.
