Thank you Troy, I'll double check the variables.

Hi John

It works (on AIX anyway), you just need to take extra special care that your
DSMI environment variables are set correctly

eg
DSMI_CONFIG=/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin64/dsm.opt
DSMI_LOG=/db2/GD1/errors
DSMI_DIR=/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin64

You also need to check the soft link to dsm.opt in /usr/lpp/db2_07_01/adsm &
/usr/lpp/db2_07_01/adsm64
ddadb218:db2gd1> ls -l /usr/lpp/db2_07_01/adsm64
total 808
-r-xr-xr-x   1 bin      bin          307255 Sep 07 2002  db2adutl
lrwxrwxrwx   1 root     system           38 Oct 28 2002  dsm.opt ->
/usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api/bin64/dsm.opt
-r-xr-xr-x   1 bin      bin           44228 Sep 07 2002  dsmapipw
-r--r--r--   1 bin      bin           26437 Sep 07 2002  libadsm.a
-r--r--r--   1 bin      bin           26437 Sep 07 2002  libtadsm.a

Ensure you have both the 32bit and 64bit api installed, and required
directories are created under /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api

ddadb218:db2gd1> ls -l /usr/tivoli/tsm/client/api
total 16
drwxr-xr-x   5 root     system          512 Jan 21 2003  bin
drwxr-xr-x   4 root     system          512 Jul 24 09:50 bin64

Cheers
Troy Tudor

Subject: 32 and 64 bit API

Hi all,

Does anyone have any experience running both 32 and 64bit API on 1 Solaris 8
system? Our DBA's are running both 32bit and 64bit DB2 instances on one
machine, and I can not get the 64bit version to work through the API. I can
use the dsmc -se=db2_backup_64 command and get in just fine, but when I try
to use the dsmapipw DB2 command to set the password, I get a 137 error.
When I look in the dsmerror log I see;
TCA EXIT Build Dates do not match rc=138.

Any and all thoughts will be appreciated.
