The readme for 5.1.7 on the FTP state states:

TSM now includes support for the second generation of LTO hardware.  This

was introduced at 5.1.6.1 and is supported by any level released later;
however,
any attempt to use LTO2 devices on a lower level than 5.1.6.1 is not
supported.

(Support for LTO2 for PASE is new with 5.1.7)

5.1.7 is not beta (although it is just recently released ....)

According to IBM the patch levels have had less testing than the maintenance
levels.

I'm running 5.1.6.1 and 5.1.6.4 on W2K with no problems (not with LTO2
though).

We have the HP 460 LTO Generation 2 drives, and I need to make sure we
have the correct TSM version installed so we can use those tapes. The docs
that came with TSM say 5.1.6 is the correct version, but the ftp site says
its 5.1.7. But 5.1.7 looks like the latest version, maybe a beta?

My question is: what is the correct version of TSM to install onto
Windows 2K Pro in order to support the HP 460 LTO-2 drives? 5.1.6 or
5.1.7?

I'd prefer NOT to use a beta version.
